Blog Lesson #8

When I get my MP3 Player, I will learn how to use
it. That will be a challenge for me. Then I will start
looking for songs that I want to put on there and
enjoy listening to, and put them on the MP3 player.
This was a major accomplishment for me. Thank you.

Blog Lesson #7

I found this information on Copyrights, quite surprisingly, to be
interesting. I didn't realize there were so many different
types of copyrighting. I think it's important to have DRM
and copyrights in all its forms to ensure protection of an
individual and/or groups work. We need to respect that.
I like the fact that Berne Convention made copyrighting
automatic. Somehow I think it would make things easier
if copyrighting was standardized worldwide. I think it's
great that we have the music available on-line to listen
to and purchase if we want to, therefore I think media
should be offered with pay per use.

Blog Lesson #6

I really like on-line learning. It has given me a chance to broaden my horizons.
and gain new skills, experiences and insight. I certainly have gained much
knowledge from all the different websites available to choose from with
tons of information. At times it's been overwhelming, but challenging.
I did get some help from some of my colleagues in my department who
offered good feedback and their talents. Thank you to all who helped me
It was very much appreciated. Please see my photos at

Blog Lesson #5

I have a cat so I liked catsers. I enjoyed looking at all the information about
cats and the different pictures of them. Those are great. I will be checking
this website often. I really love to do puzzles. I play scrabble and do crossword
puzzles. When I first looked at puzzlerplayer and saw all the different
puzzles and games available, I was amazed and happy. I will be visiting that
site often as well. Those two I liked the most.

Blog Lesson #4

I read about Library Things; Mooch; Elf; Guru; Shelfari; and What
Should I read next? I like the idea of having a virtual bookclub.
To be able to share with others who have similar tastes make me
feel like I'm a part of a group. I hope to use Guru, so as to
organize my home library. I will also use Library Things to share
with others who read the same things I do. I really like these
ideas.

Blog Lesson #3

I looked at the myspace; Youtube; and SEOmoz.
I liked Youtube. I tried looking for a song I liked by
The New Seekers. I didn't find it, but will look further
at a later date. I did enjoy the fact that there was so much
to choose from. I will looking at that alot more in the future.
On SEOmoz, I looked up Lulu for publishing. This is good
to know. I looked under Yelp and noticed all the different
restaurants and shopping places there are out there. I also
looked at Peertrainer for health news. This was alot of
information to absorb and it good to have all this
available to look at.

Blog Lesson #2

Once my account was created, I added these 5 RSS feeds to my account.
Bloglines/News; Pat's Knitting and Quilting; Quotes of the Day; Simply Recipes;
and Technology@ocls. Once I figured out how to do this and saw all the
different RSS feeds I could choose from I got excited. It was fun picking out
the ones that I liked. I found Grokker's site to be interesting and user friendly.
I looked up something on North Carolina Beaches, since I will be traveling to
one in the near future. It was great to be learning something new. I enjoyed
this site. I learn better with visual aid, so it great to have all these options to
choose from. Learn 2.0 has opened a whole new world for me and it works well
for me.

Blog Lesson #1

April 30, 2007

My name is Mary Moyers. This is my first blog. I am excited about this course and am
looking forward to learning more. For me it will be a challenge. I was born and raised in the
state of Maryland. I lived in College Park, then in Silver Spring. I was 21 when I moved
down to Florida. I started working for The Orlando Public Library on October 28, 1987.
I got married on May 20, 1989 to Joe Moyers and we are still together.
I have a cat named Phraser. He is 7 years old now. He likes to play with water, drink water
from the tub spicket, and likes to be squirted with water. That to me is what makes him
unique because most cats don't like water.
My favorite hobby is quilting. Although I haven't made one lately, I'm always buying
material. This is so when I do find a pattern that I like, i can just look through my
collectiion. I like matching up the different colors. It's a form a therapy for me. It
helps to get away from it all. I really enjoy it. I have other hobbies like crocheting,
knitting, and needlepoint. I also enjoy bowling and ice-skating. I also enjoy traveling.
My husband and I have traveled through about half the states and Canada. I enjoy
cruising in my car and listening to music. I like the music from the sixties and seventies,
butI do listen to country, classical. and some music from the nineties and today as well.
I have B.S. in Psychology.
