Second Life and 3-D Virtual Reality

I know very little about Second Life and 3-D Virtual Reality. I was introduced
to this when our department had a meeting one day. During that meeting
Second Life was talked about and we even watched a demonstration from
a computer.
To me Second Life and 3-D Virtual Reality looks like a fascinating world to explore,
an adventure worth taking, to see what's over the horizon. It's where we can learn
new things in a whole different environment and might even gain a new perspective.
We may see things in a way in which we never thought possible. What may also
happen is that it might help to create a new outlook on life.
It could be used in the library as a tool for people to increase awareness
and look at things differently. It may lead to someone getting a
new perspective on any information they may be pursuing.
